Melanie Surman is a Dallas-based contemporary artist and founder of Melle Studios. Inspired by travel, Western culture, coastal landscapes, and everyday moments, her work explores color, texture, and storytelling through a playful yet refined perspective.

Melanie studied Marketing and Studio Art at Elon University, including time abroad in Florence, Italy, where her exposure to Italian art, architecture, and culture deeply influenced her creative direction. After five years in the technology industry, she transitioned to pursuing her art practice full-time, building on Melle Studios, which she founded in 2020.

A coastal cowgirl at heart, Melanie has always been equally drawn to the beach and life around horses. These influences come together in her work, blending coastal ease with equestrian charm through expressive brushwork, layered textures, and unexpected color palettes.

Through Melle Studios, Melanie creates original paintings and commissioned works that bring personality and individuality to a space. Her work is represented in galleries, with collections and custom commissions available to private collectors, interior designers, and creative partners.
