good to meet you! I’m Melanie Surman, the founder and artist begind Melle Studios. Art has always been a key part of my life. While I was in College at Elon University, I minored in Studio art, and that is when I really dove into my passion to create a brighter happier world through art. During covid lockdown, I created an instagram to showcase my work. The support from my friends and family pushed me to continue creating and posting.

I am the kind of person that cannot sit still, so When i am not creating art, I enjoy playing tennis, golf and running half marathons. I also enjoy traveling, cooking, thrifting, trying new coffee shops, curating outfits and finding the best happy Hour deals around.

I now reside in Dallas, Texas with my adorable Puppy, Cowboy. I strongly believe in the puppy distribution system because he found me and chose me as his owner at only 5 weeks old.

When I am creating new pieces, I often see a vision in my head, create a mood board of items, colors, and textures, and just see what comes to be. for commission work I really try and understand the essence of my client to ensure I can recreate their aura, interests, and overall personal style within the work. Looking forward to continue to follow my dreams of becoming a full time artist!
